Selling motor-driven doors on the Swedish market

Are you a manufacturer of power operated doors? Do you want to sell the doors on the Swedish market? In that case, this information may be of interest to you.

Sweden requires that some power operated doors must be inspected by one of our national inspection bodies. This inspection in many cases also shall be done for new motor-driven doors. You do not have to pass this inspection on new power operated doors if the declaration of conformity (against the Machinery Directive, 2006/42/EC) also covers the installation of the door. So this option is often used in Sweden and also used by sellers as an argument as to why the customer should buy a door from them.

The power operated doors that must be inspected are, for example, garage doors, industrial doors, rollers, and gates. Doors which are excluded from this inspection requirement are, for example, small power operated pedestrian doors.
